Miss Mary Alice Dixon and James
Russell Taylor were quietly united in
marriage on, Friday April 16 by Pro
bate Judge J. Hewelette .Wasson, in
Laurens.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, A. I. Dixon of Reimo and
was graduated from Clinton High
school; ' She holds a position as cash

ket.
The groom is the son of Mrs. James
Sanders of this city and the late Mr.
Taylor. During the recent war he
saw service in the Navy and at pres
ent is employed with the Lydia Mills

dent, conducted the devotional and

gardens- in the lower part of the
state recently.
The group left by bus from the
agricultural building. The first stop
was made i at Ed is to Gardens in
Orangeburg, where the women view
ed multi-colored azaleas in full
bloom. After a leisurely drive
through Summerville admiring the
colorful azaleas and dogwood, the
group journeyed to Cypress Gardens.
Due to increased consumption and
inadequate pumoing facilities, the

water supply is running low at pres
ent,_SupL_B_ R. Austin said yester-
ay. All users, because of this con
dition, are asked to conserve water
as much as possible during the next
several weeks, he said.
The city purchased a new pump in
December past, and several fittings
and parts for the pump have not been
received, and the city has been un
able to get the parts from the man
ufacturers. It is hoped they may be
received soon to put the pump into
operation and increase the supply.
Housewives and others are urged to
conserve water because of the emer
gency.
