Observes Birthday
Yesterday morning in observance of
her sixth birthday which is today,
Dianne Roddy, and her little friends
at Playschool enjoyed a party. '
Each child was given an Easter
basket as a favor and colorful bal
loons added to the merriment. After
games refreshments of ice cream,
birthday cake, and chocolate milk

were served. The decorated cake,
glowing with six candles adorned the
refreshment table.

Complimenting two brides-elect,
Miss Jean Layton and Miss Jane Lit
tle, Mrs. George R. Blalock and Mrs.
E. H. Wilkes entertained with a
bridge party Tuesday afternoon at
the Blalock home.
Arrangements of camellias, Japa
nese Magnolia, judas and flowering
peach formed a lovely decoration for
the card rooms where six tables were
placed for the games. High score
prize was awarded Mrs. Eugene Av
ery, and the guests of honor were
presented by the hostesses with gifts.
Late in the afternoon a chicken salad

Tuesday afternoon the meeting of
the Ex libris book club was held at
the home of Mrs. I. M. Adair. Tu

of sandwiches and iced drinks were

Popular Bride-elect
Miss Jane Little who is being wide
ly entertained prior to her April wed
ding was paid a charming compli
ment Monday evening when Miss
Irene Workman and Mrs. Harry Net
tles were hostesses for a drop-in.
The Workman home was lovely
with a variety of spring flowers. In
the dining room where yellow set
the color note refreshments were
served buffet style. On the table a
central arrangement of jonquils was
flanked by lighted candles. Assorted
sandwiches, cookies, and other par

Miss Little was presented by the
hostesses with a gift of china.
Sixteen friends of the honoree were
invited for the occasion.

Mrs. Carlisle Neely entertained
with a desert bridge Thursday after
noon for members of her club.
Two tables were arranged for the
games in a setting of jonquils and
flowering quince. After a sweet
course several progressions were en
joyed. Score prizes were presented
to Mrs. I. M. Adair and Mrs. James
Addison. Floating prize went to Mrs.
R. P. Hamer.
