W. R. Anderson, Jr., said yesterday. Classes will begin Monday, June 2. The price cost will be $10.00 per course and the school will operate for six weeks, he said. POSTOFFICE TO CLOSE Postmaster W. Friends of Miss Kathleen Howard will regret to know she is a patient at Hays hospital, where she under went an operation Saturday. Mrs. W. D. Copeland has returned home from a visit with her sisters, Mrs. John T. Cheatham and Mrs. Claude J. Hipp in Greenwood and ' attended the graduating exercises at i Lander college Monday. Her niece, | Miss Nell Cheatham, was a member 1 of the class. Mrs. Kitt R. McMaster, Jr., left today to spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. Kitt R. McMaster, Sr., in Winnsboro. Her lister-in-law, Miss Jane McMaster, returned to Winns boro with her after a visit here. Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Dillard spent Sunday in Lincolnton, N. C., with Their daughter, Mrs. Allen McSween, and Rev. Mr. McSween. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Dicus had as their guests the past week Mr. and ! Mrs. J. R. Mrs. W. N. Quinn underwent an operation at the local hospital yes terday morning. Mrs. William Carrillo of Los An geles, Calif., was the week-end guest of her niece, Mrs. George R. Blalock, and Dr. Blalock. Friends of Mrs. S. S. Barnett will be glad to know she is improving at 1 St. Francis hospital, Greenville, j where she has been a patient fori several weeks. Mrs. H. C. Miss Colie Summer attended thei wedding of Miss Dorothy Johnson I and Charles Crews in ColumbHa on Tuesday evening. Friends of F. M. Stutts, who has been a patient at Johns-Hopkins hos pital, Baltimore, will be interested to know he has been transferred to the Marine hospital near Baltimore and is improving satisfactorily fol lowing an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bowman and children, Karen and Victor, Jr., ofj Alto, Ga., were recent guests of Mrs. Bowman’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis and attended the high school commencement exercises in which Frank Loftis was a member of the graduating class. Frank re turned with them to Alto for a stay, and Mr. and Mrs. Loftis and daugh- tec, Nannette, will join them today for a several days’ visit. Mrs. Mary Owens will leave to morrow for Syracuse, N. Y., where she will spend the summer months with her daughter, Mrs. C. L. Marks, and Mr. Marks. While there she will attend the wedding of her grand daughter, Miss Patricia Marks, on June 2. Mr. and Mrs. Mack C. Poole and Allen Poole, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. James A. Poole, of Dunn, N. C., spent Monday in Spartanburg with Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Poole. Mrs. W. D. Cauthen of Greenville, spent several dayi this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Dominick. Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Felder of Wal- terboro, are spending several weeks with the former’s sister, Mrs. Mood Smith. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Chaney have returned home after a trip to *Day- tonea Beach, Fla. Mrs. J. Clarence Copeland and Mrs. E. L. Chandler visited the lat ter’s sister, Mrs. T. D. Randolph, in Barksdale, Sunday. John Spratt is spending several weeks with his parents, Mr. end Mrs. John Spratt. He was a student at Maryville college, Maryville, Tenn., for the past year. Pfc. Lonnie McMillian has return ed to Camp Lejeune, N. C., after spending a three weeks’ leave at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Rowland, Jr., i and little son, are now making their home in eastern North Carolina. Miss Lila Dillard of Columbia,; spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs. Reese Young. Mrs. John C. Henry and Mrs. T. P. P. Carson of Greenville, visited Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shands yesterday. Mrs. Carson remained for a several days’ visit with her parents. Lt. C. E. McGee, and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Barnes attended the Eighth dis trict Pharmaceutical association meeting-luncheon at the Oregon hotel in Greenwood Wednesday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Steer, accom panied by Walter Barksdale of Rome, Ga., spent the week-end in Florence and visited Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Oulla, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Oulla and Mr. and Mrs. D. B.
