Bridge Club Meets
With Mrs. Addison
Mrs. Tom Addison was hostess to
members of her bridge club on Fri-
- day afternoon for a dessert bridge.
Camellias decorated the sun parlor
where two tables were arranged for
the games. A sweet course was
served after which a number of pro
gressions were enjoyed. Prizes were
presented Mrs. I. M. Adair and Mrs.
James Addison, score winners.

King entertained the wedding party
and out of town visitors on Thurs
day following the rehearsal for the
Boland-Major rites.

“Modern Trends In Radio,” and Mr.
McDonald discussed “Modern Trends

Miss Billie Hicklin was hostess on
Thursday at lunch for Miss Marcia
Galloway, bride-elect, at the home of
her slater, Mrs. Bernard Boyd, as
sembling six friends of the honoree.
An old-fashioned nosegay was
used as a pretty centerpiece for the
luncheon table, in keeping with the
yellow and green color..note. Bou

Johnny Horton
Celebrates Birthday
__ On Monday afternoon Johnny Hor
ton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hor^
ton, celebrated his eleventh birth
day. He invited ten classmates and
friends and each remembered him
with a gift.
The group enjoyed " the movie,
“Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” and
popcorn. Later they went to Rod
dy’s for refreshments. A prettily
decorated birthday cake with light
ed candles centered the table. The
cake was cut and served with ice
cream.

The Woman’s Missionary Society
of the First Baptist church met on
Monday afternoon.
Mrs. J. D. McKee gave the Bible
study. A program on “The Rus
sians,” had been arranged by the
Franks circle, Mrs. R. S. Truluck,
chairman.

Wednesday Club Meets
With Mrs. Wysor
Last week Mrs. R. E. Wysor en
tertained the Wednesday Study club
at her home on Maple street.
Adorning the living room were
snapdragons in shades of pink. Red
carnations were effective against the
blue walls of the dining roqm.
Program leader, for the afternoon
was Mrs. C. B. Betts, who discussed
“Transportation in Alaska,” with
emphasis on travel by dog-sled, rail
way and highway.
Later a salad course, coffee and
cake were served.
Methodist Women To
Attend Conference
The Woman’s Society of Christian
Service met Monday at Broad Street
Methodist church.
The devotional was given by Mrs.'
Dave Copeland, assisted by Mrs. W.
L. Robertson, the theme being “The
Child.” Mrs. J. V. Edwards, the
president, presided over the busi
ness meeting. She urged as many
as possible to attend 'the district con
ference to be held in Anderson
March 27 at St. John’s church of
which Rev. J. H. Kohler, formerly of
this city, is pastor.

Young Woman’s auxiliary of the
First Baptist church.
Mrs. Leonard Bishop, president,
had charge of the business meeting,
