Workers Needed
On County Projects
D. R. Shands, acting* manager of
the South Carolina State 'Employ
ment Service, stated yesterday that
construction laborers are now* need
ed on several building projects in the
county. A number of workers who
were formerly employed in these
jobs have returned to the farm and
started theft* crops, he said. Ift-addi-
tion to these building projects labor
ers are urgently needed on a road
and bridge building job in the
county. Even though the local of
fice has recruited and referred as
many local workers as possible, one
large contractor is having to trans
port laborers from another county
because of the urgent need, Shands
said.
