Robertson is the sow of Mrs. B. B. Neal of Clinton aril the late W. J. Robertson of Ware Shoals. He is a graduate of Clinton high school, class of ’39, and attended Presbyterian college. Hand- tome I :0 Army Asks Hike In Draft Calls Washington, Dec. 18.—The war de partment announced today that it has asked selective service to increase 1 the army’s Januai’y and February calls frbm 60,000 to 80,000. The department said that since last 1 July it has asked selective service for fewer men than the estitmated re quirements. The deficits were made up by combing army units to obtain men for field service. By this method, the department; said the selective service'call had been held to 60,000 a month, but that ] it is now necessary to step up the' calls by 20.000 a month. It will be determined later, the department said, whether it will be necessary to continue the 80,000 rate in March and April. Selective service meantime an nounced that all men under 30 who had been rejected for military ser vice since last February 1, except (those with obvious physical defects will be reexamined next year.
