Kiwanians Give
9-Point Policy

Seeking to speed reconversion and
aid returning veterans, Kiwanis In
ternational yesterday announced
nine far-reaching post-war objec
tives as the Kiwanis club of Clinton
considered wa^'s and means of rend- i
ering greater community service in
peacetime.
In a special message to 2,300 clubs
throughout the United States and
Canada, Hamilton Holt, Macon, Ga„
president ot Kiwanis International,
declared . that 149,000 Kiwanians
‘will not, shrink fiom the problems

The shortage period isn't over, but it may be expected to
pass in the near future. No one knows what civilian demands
will be. But whatever is ahead, the war is behind us and that
is just cause for gladness—not forgetting those and the fami
lies and friends of those who have made the supreme sacri
fice, those who have been maimed, and those who will be ill
for the balance of their lives. We pause with a salute to pay
homage. We thank God that two wars that have cursed the
globe are now ended.
