All members are asked to* be present. Miss Naomi Hall, publicity chair man, has stated. v -r LAST RITEs’fOR DR. RUTLEDGE Laurens, Jan. 18.—The funeral of Dr. H. M. Rutledge, Laurens surgeon, who succumbed early Monday of in juries suffered Jan. 7 when the small motor vehicle he was driving collided with a parked automobile, were con ducted here Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. John J. Hayes, in charge. Burial followed in the local ceme tery. . . Dr. Rutledge underwent an oper ation Jan. 8 for,the amputation of his right leg, which was crushed as a result of the traffic accident. He was the son of Dr. Archibald Rutledge, South Carolina poet laureate. Besides his wife and father, the young surgeon is survived by two children, Elise Rutledge, six years old, and Donald Rutledge, three years old; two brothers, Lieut. Irvine Rift- ledge, of Maryland, and Archibald Riftledge, Jr., serving with the Amer ican armed forces in the British Isles. Dr. Rutledge came to Laurens in July, 1940, and opened an office as ear, eye, nose and threat specialist. Befpre moving here he practiced at Lumberton, N.
