Dr. Frey To Speak
At Lions Meeting
Dr. J. William Frey, of the college
faculty, will speak at a meeting of
the Lions club Friday evening at 7:30
at the clubhouse near here, officials
of the club state.
Dr. Frey is a native of Pennsyl
vania and will discuss the “Pennsyl
vania Dutch” people of that state,
particularly York county. Dr. Frey
describes himself as “eesn von selle
nichsnutziche Freys von Yarrick
Kounti” (which, translated, means
something like “one of the numerous
Freys of York county”).
President H. E. Sturgeon urges a
full attendance for the meeting.
Farm Machinery
Sales Are Frozen
Farm machinery has been frozen
as of November 1 1, C. B. Cannon,
county farm agent, stated, and the
government has called for . an inven
tory from all hardware and machin
ery dealers of supplies on hand.
Notices have been mailed to con
cerns in the county requesting this
information. In the future farm
equipment is to be rationed by a
farm machinery committee in the
county composed of Grover C. Ro
per, Hickory Tavern community,
chairman; T. Roy DeShields, Lanford,
and G. Fair, Buford, Wadsworth
community, Clinton.
At present the committee is unable
to grant permission to buy any
equipment, Mr. Cannon said.

P. Sloan, resigned to enter a midship
