American Airplane factory, Hermosa
Beach, California, was asked a ques
tion by General Doolittle, who was
addressing the employees. After he
had answered the question about a
B-25 plane that the factory turns out,
General Doolittle shook hands with
him. The program was broadcast
over Columbia Broadcasting system
and photographers snapped pictures
for the papers and newsreels. Now
all of Bobby’s friends and fellow
workers call him “General.”
