Mrs. Twitty is a graduate of Clin

an attractive and popular member
of the .younger set and her many

Mr. Twitty, the son of Dr. and
Mrs. Walter Columbus Twitty of
Rock Hill, is a graduate of Augusta
Military academy, Staunton, Va., and
attended Presbyterian college the
past year.

Twitty will make their home in For

picnic spot on the Whitmire road,
where the vesper service was held.
After the service the group gath
ered aroimd a huge bonfire and en
joyed a picnic supper. The young

Cubs of Den Two
On Friday night after the pack
meeting, Charles and Earl Pitts en
tertained m«nbers of Den Two of
the Cub Scouts at the home of their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Pitts.
An open fire was made in the yard
of the home and weiners roasted and
served .with rolls, lemonade, and
gingerbread. Mrs. Pitts and the den
mother, Mrs. P. M. Pitts, directed a
number of amusing Hallowem

end guests, three young ladies who
are also students at the Woman’s

decorated with fall flowers in shades i
of yellow and white, the central ar- <
rangement being on the mantel
where a low bowl of pompon chrys
anthemums was flanked by yellow
candles in crystal candelabra. The
guests included neighbors and close
friends of the bride-elect. j
Little Bay Gives
Halloween Party
On Friday afternoon Robert Mann
and his classmates celebrated Hallo
ween at an outdoor party at his
home on Centennial street
On arrival the little guests were
formed into two sides—“witches” and
“ghosts,” which contested in games.
“Witches’ brew” and “Ghost barbe
cue” were served in the yard. After
drinking the punch, guests carried
out the idea and (here was much
groaning and hissing, necessitating
some operations to remove the
causes. 'The little folk soon revived
enough to play and the afternoon
was spent ih playing various games.
Late in the evening refreshments
in keeping with “nut-crack” were
passed. Masks, caps, and noise-mak
ers were given out and a parade en
joyed. GuesUi were members of the
second grade of the orphanage
college of Furman university. Misses
Bernice McIntyre of Clio, Suzanne
Bennett of Dillon, and Margaret Cly»^
biun of Greenville.
Covers were laid for twelve at
small tables, daintily appointed and
decorated with yellow chrysanthe
mums. Elsewhere in the home larger
arrangements of chrysanthemums
were attractively uaed. The hostess’
mother, Mrs. S. W. Sumerel, was
assisted in serving a delightful din
ner by Misses Maude Sumerel and
Margaret McGregor of Ruby and
Foimtain Inn.

hood party announcing the engage
ment of her daughter, Elizabeth^
Christina, to Donald Wilson DuBois
of Goldville and Oswego, N. Y.
Covers were laid for eight and a
salad coiuxe with coffee served. On
the refreshment plate was an Eng
lish walnut tied with satin ribbon to
which was attadied the following
jingle, “If my secret you would know
—don’t crack—^Just untie the bow."
The nuts when (opened revealed the
announcement, “Chris and Dcm —
Early Winter.”
Several appropriate contests were
enjoyed and Miss Doris Suber was
awarded a miniatUFfi.,vaBe for top
score. The honor guraf was present
ed with a dainty white, bride’s book
Misses Claire HuBer, Sara Patter
son, Helen Moore and Mrs. Sarah A.
Jacobs assisted in entertaining.
