A delicious chicken supper was
served to about thirty members of
the Woman’s club and their husbands
last Saturday evening at Joaxma club
house.
A low arrangement of flags and
roses made a lovely table setting.
Mrs. J. J. Clark club president, wel
comed the guests, while J. M. Ross
responded for the men.
Music was furnished Uuoughout
the evening by the piccolo.

tournament will get under way with
a bang. This year promises one of
the largest, if not one of the best
fields ever to participate for the
three very much sou^t after tro
phies. Silver cups are presented to
the champions pf their respective
fields: ladies’ singles, men’s singes,
and men’s doubles. The cups have
been in circulation for four years
and will be permanently retired if a
player or doubles team wins the cup
three consecutive years. .
Last year’s winners were: ladies’
singles, Virginia' Sadler; men’s sin
gles, John Mimneugh, and men’s
doubles, Taylor Mattin-Rufus Sad
ler.
Entry fees' will be twenty-five
cents lor singles, and fifty cents per
doubles team. All men wishing to
participate in the tournament will
register with either Rufus Sadler,
Jr., or H. M. Rowland, Jr., or leave
their entry fee and name at Sadler-
Owens Pharmacy. Ladies will regis
ter with Emily Dillard or leave their
name and fee at the same place.

balls until reaching the soid-flnals
round, at which time new balls will

played on courts at Presbyterian col
