Harold Jackson of Stewart, Ga., visited friends here last week-end. , Mrs. J. C. Heath and daughter; Mary Jane, of Greenville, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde} Trammell. Robert Boling spent the past week end in Greenwood with his brother, Leroy Boling. Mrs. J. D. Haifston and daughter. Earl WorkmaA, Mrs. Carroll Spencer, and Mrs. T. Heath Copeland. With the Sick Mrs. James Cauble is ill* at her home on Main street. Juanita Huntington is suffering from an attack of appendicitis. Little Jimmy Davis is ill at his >)iome on Church street. Mrs. J. C., and Harold Hughes of Camp Aubrey, Co lumbia. William Nelson of Fort Jackson, spent the week-end with his sister, Mrs. Mary Fuller. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Reed and fam ily were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Martin near here. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Hall of Laur ens, visited Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Dabbs Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walker Crain and family of Chester, spent the week- his. parents. Church Service at Lydia M. E. Church, South Rev. W. R. Quinn, who was assign ed to Bailey Memorial and L3rdia churches by the conference of M- E. Washington, July 8. — Two South Carplina house members cast their eyes today on the senate seat vacat ed by Associate Justice James F. j Byrnes of the supreme court, and a| third was mentioned as a possible candidate. Representative Joseph Xt. Bryson of Greenville, formally annoimced his candidacy. Representative Butler B. Hare of Saluda, withheld formal announcement but told newsmen be expected to seek the seat. The third was Representative James P. Richards of Lancaster, whose friends said he ml^t consid er making the race. Bible School At Church A ten-day Bible school began Fri day, July 4, under the direction of Mrs. Gary Martin at the Presbyte rian church of this community. About seventy-five young people are attending the daily morning classes which will conclude Sunday morn ing with a commencement service at the regular service hour. Other teachers in addition to Mrs. Martin are Mrs. L. B community and received her educa tion in the local schools. Mr. King is a native of Westmins- tor and a graduate of Westminster high school and a Greenville business school. He is a corporal in the United States, army, now stationed at Fort Jackson. W.C.T.U.
