AROUND INE TOWN
Incidents, Unusual and
Ordinary, Gathered On
Our Rounds.
“Our Favorite Newspaper” has re
ceived from our little friend, JOY
GODFREY, a copy of “Whites City
Daily News," which is published at
the entrance to the famous Carlsbad
Caverns in New Mexico. Joy and
her mother, Mrs. A. B. Godfrey, re
cently visited these caverns, which
are the largest in the world, their
gorgeously colored formations being
artfully illuminated to form a scene
of rare beauty. From the caverns
Mrs. Godfrey and Joy journeyed on
to visit £1 Paso, Texas, and Juarez,!
Mexico, before returning to Lawton,
Oklahoma, where they will spend
the next few months. Lieut.-Colonel
Godfrey is at Fort Sill, where he has
been assigned for the* next three
months to take an advanced course
at the U. S. Field Artillery school.
rived here Tuesday on a vacation
trip. They left this morning, ac
companied by Mrs. Evans’ mother,
Mp Alma McKee, for Schubuta,
Miss., where they will visit Mr.
Evans’ parents. Mrs. McKee will be
met' in Schubuta by her daughter,
Mrs. Clyde Hedden, whom she will
accompany to New Orleans where
Lt. and Mrs. Hedden are now mak
ing their home.
