The contest is sponsored yearly and there were 57 entrants, publicity members of the various clubs, who sent in stories of their organization’s outstanding feat of the year. Miss Hitt wrote about the work for the crippled children’s home in Florence county and her 200 word story was judged the most interesting and best written. This paper was awarded a blue ribbon and will be entered in (the national contest where it has a chance to win a cash prize and national honor and distinction. She entitled the prize winning paper ‘.‘That They Might Walk.” MISS NANCY OWENS comes to the front as a re^mlt of her origin ality. A clever praylet, ♦‘Good Sliip Musica,”i written by Miss Owens and presented by the third and fourth grade pupils to the school, wa^so entertaining thaj it. was again enacted before the public on Monday evming. The stage represented a ship, with Barrie Jean Wingard as captain and Mark Pitts, admiral, and as the ship reached foreign {wrts a chorus of students would appear representing each country and giv ing appropriate songs and diances.
