Luther D. Hitch
Claimed By Death
Luther D. Hitch, 82, long a citizen
in this section, died last Wednesday
at the Laurens county home Where
he had been an inmate for the past
seveiwl years. 'For a long number of
years he had been blind and made his
way about the premises of the 'home
with the aid of a stretched wire by
winch,he was able to care for 'him
self.
Mr. Hitch 'was for many years a
farmer of the Long Branch seetkm.
He was a son <of the late Pinckney
and Emily DuvaU Hitch, and a faith-
fid member of the Langston Baptist
church.
Until the funeral hour, the' body
was at the home of Mr. and Mn.
Larry Todd near here, distant rela
tives of the deceased. Ftmeral services
were conducted from the Langston
church Thursday aftecnoog with Rev.
D. E. Taylor and Rev. Masoa Pooic
officiating. Interment fcdlowed in tha<
ohurch cemetery.
Ifr. Hitch is survived by no imme
diate relatives.
