The books of the County TreMurer;
will be opened for the collection of
taxes for the fiscsl year, 1938, at the
Treasurer’s office from October 1, to*
December 31, 1938. After DeccTn^>er
SI one pel* cent will be added. After
January 31st, two per cent will be
added, and after February 28th, seven j
per cent will be added until the 15th i
day of March, 1939, when the books
will be closed.
All I persons owningr property in
more than one school district are re
quested to call for receipts in each of
the several school districts in which
the property is located. This is im
portant, as additional cost and pen
alty may be attached. |
All able-bodied male citizens be

to pay a poll tax^^if $1.00. Commuta
tion Road Tax $1.50, in lieu of road

world-famous because of its ('hrist-
masy name and also because Abra
ham Lincoln lived there. from his
seventh to twenty-first years. Santa
Claus is ^n unincorporated village
but its post office does a land-office
business each December because
thousands of people send their let
ters there to be cancelled with the
famous Santa Claus postal stamp.

To Meet War Debt
Washington, Dec. 3.—Finland noti-j
fied the state department tmlay that
as usual it would make its ,semi-an- j
nual debt payment to the United.
States on December 15.
Only Finland of the 13 European
nations whose debts' to this govern
ment ihave been swollen by interest
to some $13,0(>0,000,(RX) since the
World war, has met its obligations
without a default.
Finland’s December 15 installment
totals $282,935.
