Representative J. D. Witherspoon,
of this county, introduced a bill in the
house last Wednesday providing for
the construction of a 20-jnile road in
the county under a reimbursement
agreement with the highway depart
ment. When the bill appeared on the
calendar on motion of Representative
Wasson it was referred to the county
delegation as a specifil committee for
consideration.

MRS. IDA OWENS PASSES
Mrs, Ida Owens, 33, died at her
home in Goldville early Sunday morn
ing. Funeral services were conducted
from the church Monday afternoon
by the Rev, E. S. Jones and the Rev.
D. E. Boozer. Interment followed in
Rbsemorit cemetery in Clinton.
She is survived by her husband,
Will Owens; six children, Louise, Bu
ford, Christine, Betty, Leroy, and
Margaret Owens. Her father, James
Weathers, of Pacolet, alio sOiVives.
Mrs. Owens wa^ faithful in life’s
relations, a devoted wife, a loving
^mother, and a loyal friendr^^ie-.will
be greatly missed in lier-home and
the Joanna community.
