On Monday evening Miss Bobby
Jean Carr was hostess to the mem
bers of the Christian Endeavor so
ciety. The decorations and games
were suggestive of the holiday sea
son. A Christmas tree yielded gifts
for each guest. About thirty enjoyed
the occasion.

ning. Christmas decorations gave the

for talent” contest, sponsored, by a
nationally known concern and con
ducted by Mr. Alley two weeks ago in
Anderson over station WAIM.
The talent scouts were warm in
their praise of Miss Whitten’s voice
and selected her out of many talented
singers. She will sing under a con
tract over stations in Philadelphia
and New York. Her friends here wish
her much success in her new work.

A day or two before Christmas at
their home in Greenwood, Mr. and
Mrs. Wingard were also pleasantly
surprised when friends and members
of his congregation there showered
them with calces, fruits, meats, canned
goods, etc., with similar holiday greet
ings and beat wishes.
Pastor and Mrs. Wingard have ex
pressed -hearty appreciation for the
gifts they received.
