The descendants of the late Captain
Jared S. Johnson met at Hie old home
three miles, east of Kinards in mem
ory of the d^ased.
Ilie deceased was a member of Co.
I, 3rd S. C. regiment, and later pro
moted to captain.. He was wounded
in the bat\le of Chickamauga, died
Nov. 21, 1895. Mrs. Johnson died July
20, 1917. They were survived by tM
children. Those now dead are: Albert,
Aaron, Cannon, J. Ben, William B.,
and Thomas. The livii^ are: Mrs. W.
A. Wofford of Woodruff, Miss Lula
Johnson, Edgar, Fred, and J., Pink
Johnson of Kinards. —
There were 100'from the states of
South Carolina and Georgia at this,*
the first reunion, held. The day^ was
a grent success, and it was sugsrseted
