M. L. Peavy, 92 years of age, and
for many years a resident of the Clin
ton Co^on Mills community, died at
his horhe last Wednesday after an ex
tended illness. The funeral services
were held Sunday afternoon at Bailey
Memorial church, with interment fol
lowing in Ro-semont cemetery. Rev. V.
McK. Marlowe and Rev. J. W. Tbm-
linson were in charge of the service
which was attended by an unusually
large concourse of friends and rela
tives. ..
Mr. Peavy was a Confederate sol
dier and highly esteemed by a host of
frietuls who will learn with sorrow of
Kis passing. \ •
The deceased is survived by his wid
ow, Mrs. Azetta Peavy, and sixteen
children, Also by a large number of
grandchildren and great-grandchil
dren.
