“in-law” contest, held first. Each
guest then had to write a tested recipe'
which wa.s bound in hook form and |
presented to the bride-elect. Follow-
ing this, a telegram was written by I
each guest to .Miss Wallace, usingi
only the letters in her first name. The
prize, a lovely handkerchief, was won
hy Mrs. E. .M. Lipscomb. Suddejily an
alarm clock sounded. Miss Wallace!
was asked to find it. As she did so shei
discovered a huge decorated box con-i
tainirtg a numiber of lovely gifts. Be-1
fore the honor guest had finished
opening them, an alarm clock wa.s
heard in another room and a second
box of lovely gifts was found by Miss
Wallace. Before she finished opening
these packages the third clock was
heard and a third box of gifts dis
covered by the bride-elect.
After looking at all the lovely and
useful gifts a delicious salad course
with punch was served by the host
esses, assisted by Mrs. Miles Hunter
of Clinton, and Miss Mable Wingata
of Georgetown.
