He likes the newspaper game and is a versatile writer. He is a devotee of athletics and is especially fond of football and baseball. Because of his eminent record with the navy—a record that in some re spects, it has been officially stated, surpasses in efficiency any previous handling of the financial side of the * department, Laurens feels special pride in his selection as Chief high way-commissioner.
