Today'* paper carries a notice of
election from the City Council denig
rating December 30, 1024, as the date
for the bolding of an election of the
qualified rotem to decide the question
of issuing 4235,000 in bonds for city
ifnprovements. The $235,000 is to be
divided into four separate issues, as
follow*^ $25,000 to be used for the
purpose of extending the water sys
tem of the city; $160,000 to be used
for the purpose of street paving;
$35,000 to be used to cover floating
debt incurred for the purpose of street
paving, and $15,000 to be used for the
purpose of-street lighting. TKa issu
ance of said bond* shall be submitted
as separate propositions and shall be
voted on separately as set forth ib
the city' ordinance.
The election will be held on Tues
day, December 30th, the polls opening
at eight a. m. and closing at four p.
m.

ence of a notable company of mem
ber* of the craft, Robert Wilson, M.
D., dean of the Medical College of
'he State of South Carolina, and

Health, one of the South’* outstand
ing medical scientists, wa* yesterday
afternoon, and la*t night,made a Ma

of Charleston, the impressive cere-
monie* being held in the Masonic
Temple, home of thv grand lodge of
Mason* in South Carolina.
Dr. Wilson’* distinction constitute*
n great landmark in the tenure of the
Grand Maatemhip by Mr. Charles K.
Chreitxberg of Rock Hill. Orange
Lodge, of which C. D. Wcimer ia mas
ter, waa requested by Grand Master
Chreitxberg to confer the three neces
sary degrees on Dr. Wilson. Two of
theae degrees were confer*--'* the
nftemoon and the degree of Muster
,Maaon waa conferred at night. In
terest, Masona said, centered on the
night communication.
