Clyde Lanford. Mrs. Sallie Johnson is spending this week in Union visiting her sister, Mrs. Joe Hollingsworth. Dr. Studley, of Atlanta, was in town Saturday, where he was called to see Mrs. Jennie Briggs, who is quite ill. Miss Margaret Fowler of Green ville, spent a few hours here with friends Saturday en route to Due Weat. Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Hipp and chil dren of Newberry, spent Sunday with Mr. Tom Little. The Duncans Creek Auxiliary met Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Dudley Jones. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Earhart and son J. W., Jr., and Elizabeth and Francis Huffman of Newberry visited Mrs. Loyd McCrary Sunday. * Mrs. Carrie Beason and daughter Lucia Beason, of Woodruff spent Sun day with Miss Maude Pearson. Miss Nannie Young remained over for a few days visit with her friend, Miss Mary Blakely at-^the Woman’s College. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Welsh of Hemet, Calif, have returned to their home after a pleasant visit to the lormer’s sister, Mrs. D. M. Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Pitts were in Columbia last week to see their daughter, Miss Emmie Pitts, who is a student at Columbia College. Mr. Guy Copeland and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leake spent Sunday at Youngs. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boozer spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives in Newberry. Mrs. W ,B. Tribble is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Quinn, in Blacksburg this week. Prof. A. T. Jeans has gone to 'Blacksburg to visit her brother, Mr. J. E. Plaxico. Mrs. Johnnie Lynn was called to Chester Friday on account of the death of her father-in-law, Mr. W. B. Mrs. Leila Shockley is spending this week with Mrs. Tom Henderson, of Goldville. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Putnam spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Copeland, of Laurens. Mrs. Hubert Pitts left Monday for Columbia where she will spend this week with her sister, Mrs. L. A. Bar- Pitts will visit her sister, Mrs. Ken- row. Peake are spend ing today in Columbia atending the tair and the Carolina-Clemson foot ball game. The friends of Mrs. William King will be sorry to know that she is on the sick list this week. Mrs. J.
