Campaign day for the State candi
dates will be held in Laurens on next
Wednesday, July 16th, at which time
the various aspirants for offices will
present their claims. It was stated
yesterday by county chairman R. T.
Wilson that the meeting will be held
in the court house beginning at ten
o’clock and it is hoped that there will
be a large audience present to greet
the candidates as they fill their
speaking engagement in this county.

County Woman’s Missionary Union
will hold its quarterly meeting at Mt.
Pleasant Baptist church, Saturday,
July 12th, beginning at 10:30 a. m. -
An interesting program--will| be
rendered, dinner will be served on the
grounds and a good delegation is ex
pected from the W. M. U. organiza
tions of the churches of the Third
Division.
This division includes: Beaverdam,
Bellview, Bethabara, Calvary, Clinton,
Cross Hill, Goldville, Holly Grove,
Lydia, Mr. Pleasant, Mountville, New
Prospect and Waterloo.

has put on a delivery service from
Columbia to Laurens. This puts the
paper in Clinton shortly after six
o’clock in time for its readers con
sumption at the breakfast table and
will prove quite a boost to it in this
section. Other papers already “cover
ing” Clinton by truck are The Green
ville News in the morning, and The
Greenville Piedmont in the after
noon.
