TWICE-TOLD TESTIMONY
Clinton People Are Doing All They
Can for Fellow Sufferers.
Clinton testimony has been pub
lished to prove the merit of Doan’s
Pills to others in Clinton who suffer
from bad backs and kidney ills. Lest
any sufferer doubt this evidence of
merit, we produce confirmed proof
•—statements from Clinton people who
again endorse Doan's Pills—confirm
their former testimony. Here’s a
Clinton case:
Mrs. Joe Chandler, 61 Florida St.,
says: “The first” symptom I,had of
kidney trouble was backache. When
I swept, sharp pains shot down from
the small of my back and fairly drove
me wild. I was nervous and
pains in the back of my head. My
kidneys didn’t act right at all. I
also had dizzy spells and would near
ly fall. I heard about Doan's Pills
and got a box. The first gave me
relief and two boxes cured me.”
(Statement given November 19,1914).
On January 21, 1922, Mrs. Chand
ler said: “Time has not changed my
opinion of Doan’s. They cured me
of an attack of kidney trouble and I
have not been bothered since. I
gladly confirm all I said before.”

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Madison Square Garden, New York,
July 9.—John W. Davis, of West Vir
gmia, was nominated for President
today by the Democratic national con
vention on the 103rd ballot.
The opposition of William Jennings
Bryan and the attempt of Wm. Gibbs
McAdoo to deliver his strength to
Meredith, failed to stop him.
Beginning with this morning's bal-
otlng the movement to Davis gather
ed a momentum which could not be
retarded and gradually but surely
through the succeeding ballots the
votes flopped over into the John W
Davis column as state after state
either increased his offering to him
turned over its whole quota.
Bryan’s opposition to Davis was
swept away in the rain of Davis votes
which swept over the convention. The
attempt of the McAdoo forces to make
E. T. Meredith of Iowa, the heir to the
McAdoo strength commanded a fol
lowing which made only a bad third
and when the Davis flood was rising
so fast that all other candidates were
being swept before it, Iowa, Mere
dith’s home state withdrew him from
the contest and voted for Davis*
Then scenes of disorder swept the
convention as everybody clamored for
a chance to join the winning forces.
When the uproar was at its height
Th6mas Taggart of Indiana, mounte<
a chair and moved the nomination of
Mr. Davis by acclamation. The mo
tion was carried with a roar am
Chairman Walsh shouted into the din
before him:

John W. Davis the nominee of this
convention.”
Immediately the tired, worn and
weary convention which had been
struggling in the throes of a seeming
ly interminable deadlock for two
Weeks—with the threat of going into
a third—broke loose in a demonstra
tion of joy and relief. '
Immediately all the state standards
which had previously been parading
for other candidates, some of them
in the midst of hard fought carried
into the aisles of the convention hall
while a swirling, perspiring but
happy crowd of delegates followed in
a procession of joy and jubilation.
The Montana standard was the last
one out but only because there was
a dispute there as to who should have
the honor of carrying it in the pro
cession. The band Swung into Dixie
the battle hymn of the Republic
Maryland and other familiar airs
which had been dinned into the ears
of the convention in a ceaseless fusil
lade of music for th elast two weeks.
The convention adjourned to 8:30
o’clock p. m., New York time, when
selection of a running mate for Davis
will be undertaken.
Walsh Declines Honor
Madison Square Garden, New York
July 9.—After nominating John W
Davis of West Virginia for the Presi
dency today the Democratic nationa
convention would have nominated
Senator Thomas J. Walsh of Montana
for Vice President by acclamation, had
he permitted it to do so.
Despite a roar of demands for his
immediate nomination, Senator Walsh
declared the convention in adjourn
ment until 8:30 o'clock tonight to give
time for consideration of the matter.
There appeared no doubt that he
would be nominated at the session to
night.
