Miss Bulow Massey came home
from Mitchell college, Statesville, N.
C., and spent the week-end with her
parents, Mr- and Mrs. L. J. Massey.
Fort Mill young people generally
enjoyed the observance of Halloween
Tuesday evening. Several parties
were given during the vening, one of
which was by MIsb Cora Massey and
another by Miss Elizabeth Mills.
Two fist fights between white men
in Foft Mill Saturday gave the Main
street loafers and others a topic of
conversation for a few hours. Each
of the four men who took oart in the
fights was fined by Records** Ott.
So far as The Times has been able
to learn, Armistice day, November 11,
will not be generally observed in
Fort Mill this eyar. It is expected,
however, that bbrief exercises in observance
of the day will be held by
Eli Bailee post, American Legion
Congressman F. Stevenson or
the Fifth congressional district writes
to The Times from Washington to
say that those of his constituents
i "wishing either vegetable or flower
seed should write for same at once.
The seed will he sent them In the
spring."
The vote in the general election
in Fort Mill next Tuesday, November
7, is expected to be light. There is
no opposition to the Democratic nominees
who were named in the primary
and most citizens therfore consider
it a waste of time to go to the
Dolls to confirm the result of the
primary.
A marriage of much interest to
their friends in Fort Mill was that of
Mack Archer and Miss tieulah Granger
by Magistrate J- iR. Haile on
?r.turday evening, October 28. MrArcher
is a Fort Mill Wo.'ld war
veteran who was" severely wounded
in the attack of the 30th division
on the .Hindenburg line and both- he
and his bride have made their home
* in Fort Mill for a number of years.
Consldarble interest is being shown
in church circles in Fort Mill over
the proposed organization next Sunday
evening at the Baptist church of
a local branch of the Interdenominational
Laymen's association. Alexander
Long of Rock Hill, prominent
In iRlock Hill laymen's work, will
come to Fort Mill to preside over the
meeting. He will be accompanied by

science rooms of the local
