f improved.
A Considerable amount of re- ,

of the town's affairs in January.

pit in which he was at work near
the county river bridge, lie was
taken to a hospital in Rock Hi!! !
where the broken limb was set.
The condition of George Fish,
general manager of the plants of ;
the Fort Mill Manufacturing coinV

weeks, continues to improve and | /
bis friends are hopeful that be ,

is rated as one oT the best
infantry organizations in the Na- !

expected to pass a creditable in'spection.
Numerous Fort Mill people who
have not yet pa hi their Suite and
county taxes .for 1921 are inquiring
as to the probability of the.
Legistluturc extending the time
v for payment. Unless there is an
> unexpected hitch over the slight
y J ..amendment made to the senate
bill by the house and the governor
does not veto the bill, which
"seems unlikely, The Times is in
position tostate that the time will
' be extended until duly 1. (

Train Kills Mules. \
Two mules were kilted and a
wagon demolished by Souththi
passenger train No. 114, south
bound, at Spratt street crossing
in Fort Mill .Monday morning
about 11 :H0 o'clock. The mules
and wagon were the property of
Brown Nivens, Gold liill farmer.
Tom Smith, tenant on Mr. Nivens"
farm, was the driver of the wagon
and he escaped without injury ,l?y !
w, jumping. The wagon was louded
with wood and was approaching
the track down the sharp descent
from the west side. Smith is said "
to have stated that he heard tin i ]
approaching train, and that he |.
tried in vain to stop the mules be- | >
fore they got ypou the .rack, Im" |
the load was so heavy the unties
could not hold hack the wagon. 1
The crossing is about 200 "yards |
south of the passenger station jl
ami is considered dangerous on !
account of-the buildings-obstructing
the view of the track in both ,1
directions and the sharp descent !.i
on the west side. | t
