pleasant one for all in attendance.

evening at the Baptist church was
well attended. The sermon was
preached by the Rev. J. H. Visor
of the Presbyterian church, his
subject being, "Man's Advent- I
ure." A similar service will beheld
at the Presbyterian church
on the evening of the first bunday
in March, at which the sermon
will be by the Rev. W. R.
Bauknight, pastor of the Methodist
church.

An enterprise designed to partially
combut the invasion of the
boll weevil in the Fort Mill community
is a cannery which is now
f being organized by business men
of tlie town and farmers of the
township. A meeting of those in
terested in the promotion of tlie
cannery was to be held in the
town hall this afternoon and in
behalf of the enterprise it is stat"X
ed that if proper cooperation is
secured profits will not only come
to farmers through growing vegetables
to he canned and marketed

Wm. Henry Chapman Dead.

A. Fite. Mr. Chapman was about

who, with his parents, Mr. and
