The store of L>. A. Harris & Co.,
near the plant of mill No. 1 of the
Fort Mill Manufacturing company, was
entered Friday night by burglars who
stole a considerable quantity of goods.
Entrance to the store was effected
through the floor, which is several
feet abovo the ground.
An automobile belonging to J. Bain
White of Port Mill, employee of the
Port Mill Manufacturing / company,
wtul burned last Thursday afteritiMUh
on the Cherry road between Port jMlll

The congregation of Bt. John's Methodist
church was greatly gratified
last Sunday over the reports of the
comn>ittee appointed by A.. O." Jones,
superintendent of the Sunday school,
showing that 9467.88 had been contributed
on "Work day," last Saturday,
by members of the church toward
the erection of the proposed'
hundred thousand dollar administration
building at ISpworth orphanage,
Columbia. The total amount represented
the contributions of Seo persons.

went to Rock Hill Wednesday afternoon

Mrs. Jennie B. Hpratt leaves Fort
Milt this week for Columbia, where
she has purchased a home and will
live. Mrs. Bpratt has for years been
an active member of the Presbyterian
church, and especially of the Sunday
school, and the fact that Bhe Is to
leave Fort Mill Is greatly regreted by
members of the church and her Sunday
school class. Mrs. Spratt's daughter,
Miss Hess Spratt. has made her
