provisions of a bill passed by the recent
general'assembly, a complete enumera-,
tlon of the veterans of the Confederate
army and navy now living in Virgin in

p The bill makes it the duty of the
commissioners of revenue of each county
or city, at the time of taking of lists
of property for taxation, to enumerate
the living veterans of the Confederate
army or navy in his county or city,
obtaining their names, ages and poetoffiee
addresses.
Senator Julian Dunn, who presented
the hill, said the enumeration will servo
the doable purpose of bringing to the
attention of the authorities worthy
ease* of former soldiers who are in needy
circumstance*, and at the same time en
abla state pension authorities to check
their lists and strike from them the
names of those who are not entitled to
receive the pension.
