Private John McNallv. company H. 56th Pioneer infantry, died at the base hospital at Camp Wadsworth after drinking poison. The nffair was an accident. McNallv and another soldier were cleaning up the premises of a mess shack when they found a bottle branded as a popular soft drink. McNally drank half the contents of the bottle and passed it to his companion. who took but little of the fluid.
