Governor Manning signed the act,
paused at the reaent session of the
general assembly, creating the State
Board of Corectional Administration,
which will have direct supervision
over the new reformatory for wayward
white girls, the reformatory for negro
boys and the South Carolina Industrial
School at Florence. Immediate- 4
ly thereafter the governor named the I
members of this board. Those appoint- J
ed were: B. O. Clary. Gaffney. one
year; J. A. Mood, Sumter, two years; j
K. M. Matthews. Florence, three years; ?
W. E. Wilbur. Charleston, four years. 2
and Df. A. T. Jamison, Greenwood, five
years. Dr. Jamison was made chair- 1
man of the board. I
The governor's action followed a joint
meeting of the State Board of
Charities and Corrections, the board
of the Industrial school, directors of I
the state penitentiary and regents of i
the State Hospital for the Insane,

the school for the feeble-minded were

man stationed at the remount depot.
Camp Sevier. Greenville, and a former
resident of Greenville, killed himself
at the home of his parents in Greenville
by shooting himself through the

been acting a little queerly for some
days before.
The First Presbyterian Church of
