On the same train the t Charleston Light Dragoons, the only cavalry troop in South Carolina. The headquarters company of the ! Second Regiment, commanded by Cap: j tain J. D. E. Company M of Orangeburg, commanded by Captain Hagy; Company L of Sumter, commanded by Captain Brown, and Company K of Florence, commanded by Captain Muldrow. Col. Holmes B. Springs, commanding the Second' Regiment, did not come with the members of his com- i mand. It is understood that he is ill at home and has been granted u fur. j lough until the middle of the week. He will probably arrive here in the next seven days, by which time the remain- I der of the regiment will have arrived, it is expected. The Charleston Light Dragoons have a strength of about 85 men. They are commanded by Capt. Henry L. Por- ' cher, a graduate of the Citadel, his Lieutenants being A. F. Littlejolin and Arthur Stoney. The troop was escorted to their train in Charleston by Mayor Hyde, the city council, the Dragoon reserves and the ladies' auxiliary. The Timmonsville Company of the Second Regiment came to Greenville some weeks ago to prepare the camp site at Sevier. It is understood that the Second Regiment will be encamped near the First South Carolina Regiment and that the Washington company and the company of artillery from North Carolina, now occupying a part of this ground, will be moved to another section of the camp grounds. .Iliat who ro thn Phu rloainn Mro. goons will be encamped had apparently not been definitely decided upon. It is likely that they will be grouped with the cavalry and will be transformed into field artillery. If this is correct, the Charlestonians will become a part of the field artillery brigade at the ramp. To See Old Liberty Bell.
