Mind of Woman Devises Two Ways in f

Two novel uses for fin umbrella ore '
told of In a recent issue of l'oplar Mis \

an devised them both.
Picnickers desiring to go in bathing J
are often handicapped by the lack ol
convenient places to change clothes. An
umbrella and some paper muslin provides
a light portuble tent that is practical
and Inexpensive for such uses.
Cut the dark paper muslin Into as
many nine-foot lengths as there are
sections of the unibrelln. Sew these
strips together. At each seam tie a
string about u yard long und a stout
cord lb feet long to the handle to hold
up the tent. For use open the uin- *
brella, Invert It and to each rib tie one *
end of the cord to the handle of the f
umbrella and suspend It front n tree i
nr other support, weighting or tying i
down the other end.
A clothes dryer that can be easily t
carried will appeal to travelers and i
persons living In small quarters. An
umbrella, four yards of strong wrapping
twine and severnl small brass j
rings tire required. Knot the rings |
Into the twine at Intervals, measuring ' <
the distance between the rib points of j
the umbrella, and hook the twine to
the points by the rings, providing eon- j ]
slderable drying spnee for small artl- 1
cles. Hook the umbrella handle over
n suitable support or tie it carefully 5
