With 137,243 votes accounted j for Manning received 70.386 and I Mease, 66,257. The re-election of Mr. Manning has been conceded and a contest is not likely. James Cansler of TIrzah in York county was nominated for railroad commissioner over Albert S. Fant of Anderson. Cansler received 75.2S1 votes to 53,024 for Fant. Cansler of Tlrzah has been running for the place on the railroad board for years and , years. The vote amng the National Guard on the border was as follows: Manning. 493; lllcase. 511; Cansler. 4S5. : and Fant 524. The returns show tlmt Governor Manning carried 27 out of the 45 counties in the state. Governor Manning carried Bamberg. Barnwell. Beaufort. Berkeley, Calhoun. Chester. Colleton, Chesterfield. The two weeks since the first primary, in which Governor Manning ran second to Mr. Blease. have been a period 01 intense activity, with the Manning men strong in their belief that ft majority of the people of the state favored the kind of government that Mr. Manning gave the state. The Manning and the Cooper people have been working night and day since the first primary and they were thoroughly organized for the contest.
