Miss Aline Barber left Monday
for a short visit to friends
at Kline, Barnwell county, after
which she goes to Scranton.

Very little interest was taken
in the prohibition election Tuesday
in Fort Mill, only 77 votes
* being cast out of a registration
of about 400. The vote stood
65 for prohibition and 12 against
% prohibition.

There have been no new developments
in the smallpox
situation in Flint Hill section
during: the last few days, according
to information obtainable,
and those afflicted with the
disease are -said to be convales- j
cent. Practically the entire
population of Flint Hill has been
vaccinated since the outbreak of
the disease there some weeks
ago.
What is Hurting Us.
The Department of Commerce
at Washington reports for the
month of July, cotton exported
to Germany during July of this
year, none. To Germany 1915,
242,GG1 hales, against 2.785,963
bales in 1914, showing a shortage
of ex port age to that country
alone of over two and one-half
million hales. While England
has only taken 315,000 more
hales than she did for the same
period last year. ? Ex.
