Notice is hereby niven that the TAX
BOOKS for York county will be opened
on THURSDAY, the 15TH DAY OF !
OCTOBER, 1911, and remain open until
the 31 ST DAY OF DECEMBER. 1914,
for the collection of STATE, COUNTY, j
SCHOOL and LOCAL TAXES, for the !
fiscal year 1914, without penalty; after
which day ONE per cent penalty will

cent penalty will be added to nil payments
made in the month of February, 1
1915, and SEVEN per cent penalty will

and all unpaid Single Polls will be
turned over to the several Magistrates |
for prosecution in accordance with law.- i
For the convenience of taxpayers, 1

date the penalties will attach as stated
above.

Annual Meeting to Be held On Janu

Pursuant to law as set forth in
section ana 01 tne civu toae, nouce
is hereby given to whom it may concern,
that the annual meeting of the
County Board of Commissioners of
York county, will be held in the office
of the County Supervisor at Yorkville,
on Thursday, January 7th, 1915, commencing
at 10 o'clock, a. m.
Under Section 993 of the Civil Code,
all claims against the county not previously
presented, must be filed with
the Clerk of the Board on or before
January 1, 1915, and holders of claims
will take notice that if the same are
not presented and tiled during the
year in which they are contracted or
the year following, such claims will be
forever barred.
All claims against York county must
he itemized, and they must be accompanied
by affidavits of the claimants
setting forth that the amounts
claimed arc just, true, due and owing,
and that no part thereof has been paid
by discount or otherwise.
All persons authorized by law to
administer oaths, are required to probate
claims against the county free of
charge.

Mr. Monroe Merritt and family,
who have been living a few
miles north of Yorkville for a
number of years, have moved to j
the upper part of Fort Mill township.

vacation.
Special Agent Joe M. Taylor
has compiled the statistics relative
to cotton ginned in York
county to December 1. This |
year to that date there were j
35,011 bales ginned, as against
33,492 in 1913.

Patrons of the local postffioce
who expect to send away Christmas
packages should mail them
before the holiday rush begins.
It is impossible to be served
promptly when the rush is on,
and not only the office force but
the patrons themselves will appreciate
the difference.
Having completed his work in this
city, Mr. Roberts, the contractor
who put down the mains ?
of the Fort Mill water system,
left Monday with his wife for ?

to Atlanta.
About two months' work will
be required to complete the new
county home building. The new
building will have between 35
and 40 rooms for use of the !
paupers and 75 persons can be
easily taken care of, whereas it
is a hard matter now to properly j
house and protect the present
twenty-five inmates. <
