SHORT ITEMS of INTEREST to TIMES READERS. Miss Bessie Rankin, of Mt. Holly, N. C.. is a visitor at the home of her brother, Mr. F. Nims. in Fort Mill township. County Supervisor T. W. Boyd was in Fort Mill Monday and drove from town to the r.ite of the proposed bridge across Sugar creek connecting York and Lancaster counties. \ Senator W. H. Stewart and Prof. L. A. Niven came over from Rock Hill and attended the closing exercises of the Gold Hill school Tuesday. Both made interesting and inspiring talks on educational matters. The friends of Miss Kate Ardrey will regret to learn that she is ill at he*' home on Booth street. Miss Ardrev is the teacher of the first grade in the Fort Mill public school and is popular with both the patrons and pupils of her grade. J. P. McCraw, who recently; resigned as assistant superin-; tendent of theMillfort Mill. Fort Mill, has accepted a position with the Harmony Grove cotton mills; at Commerce, Ga.. as overseer | of the weaving, spooling, slashing and drawing-in. The patrons of the Pleasant j Valley public school are arranging to erect a new building for the school during the summer I vacation. The building will be| larger and more modern in every respect than the old building and will be more centrally located. Miss Myrtle Sutton returned to her home in Fort Mill township Saturday evening after a stay of several months with relatives in St. Petersburg, Fla. Miss Sutton was accompanied home by Mr. George Anislie, a friend of the family. By a clever piece of detective work Officer Potts Sunday afternoon caught Rob Waters, colored, selling a pint of whiskey to a young white man. Monday morning Waters was fined $50 by Mayor Harris.
