Two would-be mashers in Atlanta,
Uonzo Drake and Arthur Manner,
tad their faces beaten into a pulp

hop-elrl whom they had fyllowe ;
lotne through the streets in the hope

toys dogged the girl's footsteps for
icveral blocks, trying to engage her
n a conversation, and went to the
;ery gate of her house.
She told her brother, a member of
he local tire department, who hastened
to be at home, and he immediitely
rushed out, took the fellows,
tne by one, before they realized what
,vas happening, and administered to
mcIi a severe drubbing. My a strange
oincidence the boys went in to a
nearby engine house to wash the
tlood from their faces.
The sympathetic firemen asked
hem how they had been hurt, and
Ihey said: "In a railroad wrrtek."
About that time the brother of the
girl followed them In. told the true
story, and they were held there until
tin* police arrived when they wero
