States navy expired a short time

by Mr. J. II. McMurray, captured
a fine specimen of red fox
early Saturday morning on the
Gilson place, 3 miles east of this
place. There are said to he quite
a number of both red and grey
fox in the vicinity of the Gilson
place this season and the hunters
have had several exciting chases
recently.

Woodmen of this place will attend.
Improvements which add much
to the appearance of the place
have recently been made to the
residence of Mr. W. B. Ardrey
on Confederate street. Mr. Ardrey
and family will move into
the house within a few days.
?Mr. J. A. Withers, of Worthville,
N. C., spent Thanksgiving
Day, at the home of his mother
in this place.

and Miss Riebor, of Lancaster,
were among the visitors to Fort
Mill Thursday.
?The annual banquet of the
Fort Mill lodge of Odd Fellows,
together with the ladies' lodge of
the Confederate Rebecca, is to
take place this (Wednesday)
evening at 8 o'clock in the town
hall. Elaborate preparations have
been made and the occasion will
doubtless be one of much pleasure
to those in attendance.
?There are a number of property
owners within the town who
- have not yet paid their municipal
taxes for 1908. The time for the
settlement of this tax has expired,
and City Clerk McElhaney
requests The Times to state that
all delinquents who do not make
payment at once may expect to
nave the penalty as well as the

the interment was made in the
town cemetery.
Mr. Ferguson had h',rn ill for
about two weeks, his affliction
finally developing into pleurisy,
which was the immediate cause
of his death. He was 53 years
of age, and was a native of Catawba
township. He is survived
by a wife, three sons and two
daughters.
Deceased was a quiet, peaceable
citizen, and his many friends
were deeply grieved at his demise.
