Harris, of Fort Mill, S. C,, who was injured in an accident at Gratton Siding, on the Southern Railway last Wednesday, was discharged from the Presbyterian Hospital yesterday.?Charlotte Observer, 12th. ?Mr. Doc. Patterson, of this place, and Miss Cora Jennings, j of Pleasant Valley, were married January 2nd by 'Squire D. K. Hall, at the home of Mr. J. Z. Bailes, in Pleasant Valley. The Fort Mill chapter U. D. C. will celebrate R. E. Lee's onehundredth birthday by giving a dinner to the veterans at the manse at one o'clock, Saturday, January 19th, 1907. All old soldiers are cordially invited. ?The census bureau cotton report issued th 9th showed that on January 1st, there were 29,399 active ginneries. Up to that date 11,750,744 bales had been ginned, which was 2,025,508 more bales than was ginned up to the same date last year. ? Mr. Jas. T. McGregor, of Walterboro, stopped over nere Thursday on his way home from Charlotte, where he had been to purchase additional machinery for his mill at Walterboro. Mr. McGregor's friends here are always pleased to see him. Mr. B. This will be pleasing information to the many friends of Mr. Massey. ?Reports from Gold Hill are to the effect that a party of hunters from that section had phenomenal luck while hunting a few days ago in the India Hook Hills. The returns from the days hunt showed that the crowd had bagged 104 rabbits, 7 partridges, 2 squirrels, and one hawk, which is not a bad day's hunt. ?Miss Florence Boyd, of Fort Mill, S. C., has been employed as stenographer by Messrs. Sheppard Bros. She formerly held a similar position in Spartanburg. Miss Boyd, besides being a very efficient stenographer, is a young woman of exceeding talent, culture and beauty, and is a decided acquisition to Edgefield's social life. She is boarding at the home of Mrs. Ida. F. Sheppard.? Edgefield Advertiser. Jim Taylor, a white man who' had been working in one of the mills here, was arrested Friday by Constable Laney, of Monroe, and after remaining in the police station over night, was taken to Monroe Saturday. The charge against Taylor, for whom the MonrOA ftffipprQ VinvA nn look out for some time, is adultery and obtaining goods under false pretence. ? In response to a petition from citizens of this place, Mr. Morgan, master of maintenance of ways for the Southern Railway, was here Saturday investigating the matter, as requested in the pepetion, of lighting the passenger station with electricity. Mr. Morfan got prices, etc., from the llectric Company, and, while no csntract as made for the lights, expressed his belief that the; terms offered would be agreeable | .to his company, and that the lights will be installed within a ' J very short time.
