"A Miss Is As Good as a Mile."
Wo have nil used the saying. "A
y miss Is ns good as n mile;" yet It Is
doubtful If any know the origin of
this proverb.
Before the days of the groat
Charlemagne, when King Pepin ruled
the Prankish Empire, there dwelt two
friends, Amis and Amlle. According
to the story of Turpln, theso men
wore so strongly attached to each
other that Amile risked his life to
?*vo the life and fortune of Amis, and
later, when Amlle was suffering from
leprosy, Amis sacrificed his own
children In order that his friend might
be hathed in their blood and cured.
Thus came that peculiarly true
proverb which will no doubt remain
with us until the end of time.

Nervous Woman Stopped Coffee and

No better practical proof that coffee
is a drug can he required than to
noto how the nerves become unstrung
in women who habitually drink it.
The stomach, too, rebels at being
continually drugged with coffee and

caffeine. Ask your doctor.
An la. woman tells the old story
thus:
"I had used coffee for six years and
was troubled with headaches, nervousness
and dizziness. In the morning
upon rising I used to belch up a
sour fluid reaularlv.
"Often I got no nervous and miserable
I would cry without the least
reason, and I noticed my eyesight was
getting poor.
"After using Postum a while I observed
the headaches left me and
soon the belching of sour fluid
stopped (water brash from dyspepsia).
I feel decidedly different now,
and I am convinced that it is because
1 stopped coffee and began to use
Postum. I can see better now, my
eyes are stronger.
