Spratt Dead. Mr. Walter E. Spratt, whose severe illiieMr has been noted in The Times several Times recently, died at his home west of town last Wednesday morning at 1 o'clock. Mr. tSprait was 43 years of age, and a descendant of Mr. Thos. C. Spratt, one of the first white settlers in this section and to whom an extensive grant of land was given by the then large tribe of Catawba Indians. Mr. Spratt married Miss Jennie Belk. daughter of .M rs. Cynthia Belk, and to ihein were born five children, whom, with their mother survive.
