The petit jorors drawn from
Fort Mill township to serve during
the approaching term of court are:
T. B. Belk. L. A. Harris, 15. 1 .
MoKllianey and ?1. \\". Ardrey.
Messrs. Frank Merrill. and A.

of their relative. Mrs. W. F. Me<

They report a very enjoyable

result being that eight gallons <>l
whiskey were seized at tin' express
otlire and shipptd to that great
.lyoral institution at Columbia.
It is noted in the papers of ad
joining counties that cotton lilooins
are oil display in a number of
places. As yet we have heard of
110 blooms in this vicinity, and
judging from the size and conditions
of the crop at pi'es lit it will
be several weeks before t'le cotton
flowers appear hereabouts.
The local hall tossers promise a
good game on Sat in day, the ltli,
between the teams of this place
and L'ineville. The Fort Mill boys
have been practicing daily for tin*
game and, lieing in tine tiim. feel
confident of winning. Tins will
be the tirst game on the new diamond
near the Spratt Machine
Shops.
Mr. T. M Sniythe, a former
Fort Mill young man and a son of
Mr. Ira (i. Sniythe of this township.
was happily married Wed
tietulay evening to Miss JJnrbara
liaber, a charming young lady of
(iastonia. N. O., tlu? marriage taking
place at tlu; home of the officiating
clergyman, Kev.K. A. Miller,
of Dowell, N. (\
Owing to a typ >grrphical error
the statement was made in last
week's Times that the next term
of the Court of the general sessions
would convene at Yorkvilie on
duly 10. This was incorrect, as to
elate, as the court convenes on the
lJth instead of the 10th.
M iss Mae Downs, a young lady
whose mother, Mrs. Sally Downs,
formerly lived in Fort Mill, and
who has been in the Thoriiwell
Orphanage at. Clinton for a number
years, was among those who
graduated from that institution
during the recent commencement
exercises. Miss Downs aeipiitteil
herself very ereditable as an assayist
and won merited applause.
James Shelby's New Shows
struck the town Saturday morning
and gave a performance in the
evening on North Main stroet. It
is said there was a good crowd
present, but little favorable comment
11as been heard from those
who attended, which is pretty good
evidence that the people were exi\u/it

Tho statement in last week's
Times uivin}* the time of closing
the mails for each of the trains
has in some way created the impression
that the poslofhce closes
at the hours j^iven. This is in
correct as the regular otlice hours
at present are from 7 a. in., to 8 p.
in. The statement was made in
order that the public ini^lit know
at what time they would have to
mail matter in order to ^et il oil'
on the several trains.

it is purposed to all join in and
