Upon the application of the requisite
number of freehold voters,
an election was hold at Gold Hill
Academy Saturday to determine
whether nn additional tax of 3
mills should be levied on all property
in the schooldistrict for school
purposes. Twenty-four voted for
the additional tax and only one
voted against it. But it is said that
there is considerable feeling over
the mat ter and that an effort will be
made to have the election set
aside at the next term of court, is
it is claimed by some that the election
was not conducted according
to the requirements of the law on
the subject, in that it was not
properlv advorti.-ed. etc. It is an
