Campaign for. Adult Blind.
Tuesday morning promptly it 9
o'clock a committee composed of a
number of Dillon ladies "will begin
a campaign for the adult blind. These
unfortunate people have a workshop
at Columbia where they .are trying to
earn a living, but they are badly in
need of equipment In the way of machinery
that will help them to make
the workshop self-sustaining. Similar
campaigns are being conducted in
every town and city in the state and
Dillon will be asked to contribute her
share towards this worthy enterprise.
It will be a .cash campaign and
no pledges will be taken. Dillon folk
will be asked to give what they feel
able'to give in the way of cash. Mr.
T. M. Glenn, field agent was here
last week arranging for the campaign.
The campaign begins at 9
o'clock Tuesday morning.
o
Methodist Church Dedicated
Dillon's handsome Methodist chnrrh
was formally dedicated last Sunday
morning, the dedicatoi-y sermon being
preached by Bishop Darljngton. The
Bervice was in the nature of a union
service, the other churches of the
town joining with their Methodist
arethren on this happy occasion.
Bishop Darlington preached a slrong,
mpressive and scholarly sermon and
for more than an hour held the unlivided
attention of the large congregation.
The history of the church
ind the unfortunate fire which destroyed
the handsome edifice, the
struggles of the congregation In rebuilding
are all so familiar to Herild
readers that it is not necessary
to repeat them on this occasion, and
aow pve^rbody, irrespective of deaomilKStion,
rejoices in the fact that
the members have overcome their difficulties
and once more have their
