TREASURER'S NOTICE
The books for the collection of
county, state, poll and road tax will
b? opened in my office, October 15
and continue open until the last day
of December, 1920, without penalty.
After said date the following penalties
will be added:
One per cent January, 1 per cent
additional in February, 5 per cent
additional until the 15th day of
March when the books will close.
All districts have special levies for
school purposes. The following is
the total levy for the various districts:

11 parties between the ages of .21
and 60 years, Inclusive, are liable,
unless exempted by law, to a poll tax
of $1.00. All parties between the
ages of 11 and 55 years. Inclusive,
are liable to a capitation road tax of
$2.00, unless exempted by law.
Those who desire to pay their taxes
through the mail may expedite matters
by dropping the Treasurer a card
asking for the amount of their taxes,
so as to avoid sending the wrong
amount, also stating the township or
townships (if property is owned in
more than one) and if possible jive
school district where property is
located. After paying taxes examine
yonr receipts and see if all your
property is covered; if not, see about
it at once.
All persons writing for information
or asking for receipt to be sent to
enclose the return postage, as no
provision is made for this item of expense.
By following the above suggestions
complications and additional costs
may be avoided.
Any person wishing the amount
of their taxes will write me not later
than December 1st.

Whereas there have been presented
to us petitions signed by more than
one-third of the qualified voters and
a like proportion of resident freeholders
of the age of twenty-one of

asking that an election be granted in
said district on the question of issueing
bonds in an amount not exceeding
twenty-six hundred $(2,600.00)
dollars for the purpose of completing
the schoolhouse now under construction
and equipping the same; now by
authority vested in us under Section
1743 Civil Code 1912, the
election petitioned for is hereby ordered
held at Oak Grove schoolhouse
on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1920.
Messrs. J. S. Fair, J. A. Hayes,
and L. M. Lundy shall act as managers
and only those who present their
tax receipts and registration certificates
as required in general elections
will be allowed to vote. Those who
favor the proposed bond issue will
cast a ballot with the words "For
bonds" written or printed thereon
and those who are opposed to the issue
will cast a ballot with the words
"Against bonds'' written or printed
thereon.

CITY TREASURER'S TAX NOTICE.
The tax books for the collection of '
City Taxes for the year beginning
Jan. 1st, 1920 will open at the City
Treasurer's Office over the Peoples
Bank November 1st, 1920. A penalty
of 5 per cent, will be added after December
1st. and a penalty of 10 per
cent, will be added after December
31st, 1920.
