The net proceeds from the entertainment
given by the Coker College
Glee Club gilisat the auditorium Friday
night amounted to $350.00, forty
per cent of which was given to the
Civic League. 'The auditorium was
crowed and the entertainment came
fully up to the expectations of the audience.
Miss Dessie Hayes gave a miscel
laneous "shower" in honor of Miss
Winnie Jackson last Saturday afternoon
from 4 until 6. The refreshments
consisted of pink ana white ice
cream $nd cake. A prize was put up
for the best written essay on "How

Mr. R. H. Fitch and Miss Mary T.
Noble who were married in Burlington,
N. C., last Sunday arrived in Dillon
Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Fitch are
at home to their friends at the residence
of Mrs. N. A. LeGette. The
bride is a native of Mebane, N. C.,
and the groom who is a native of
Burlington, N. C. has been in Dillon
since last November, being connected
with the Bell Telephone Co.
Miss Grace Mclntyre of Hamer who
will be graduated from Flora MacDonald
College in May is treasurer of
h&r class which /lumbers twenty-five.
Nineteen of the class from North Carolina
and six are from South Carolina.
Eighty per cent of the graduates will
teach and fifty per cent will take up
advanced work. One member of the
class will enter the foreign mission
field. Miss Mclntyre is a member of
the Epsilon Chi Literary Society and
will receive the degree of B L.
Mr. B. A. Bedenbaugh has accepted
the position of secretary and treasurer
of th? Palmetto Bond ft Mortgage Co.,
of Lake City, and will leave May 1st
for his new home. The company is I
capitalized at $250,000.00 and does
an extensive business. Before going
with the Moore Auto Sales Company,
Mr. Bedenbaugh was for many years
clerk and treasurer of the town,
which position he filled in a highly
efficient manner. He is an excellent
business man and his leaving is a
distinct loss to the town. He and his
family will carry with them to their j
oew home the best wishes ot a large
circle of friends,

county, who was paroled after
serving two years of a 12 year sentence,
was pardoned and restored to
citizenship by Governor Cooper last
week.
